Pulsar Scientific

Compression: Device with various wraps for arm, leg, etc. Alternating / Intermittent Compression between 35mmHg and 15mmHg

Localized thermal therapy (hot or cold) for post traumatic and post surgical conditions

Contrast Therapy: Automatically alternates from hot to cold therapy (20 minutes at 49° F and 10 minutes at 105° F repeating continuously). For pain management. Combined with compression to enhance thermal transfer.

DVT Prophylaxis: Decrease the risk of deep venous thrombosis (DVT). Primarily post surgical.

Edema: Reduction of edema associated with soft tissue injuries such as burns, postoperative edema, and ligament sprains.

Lymphedema: Treatment of disorders associated with vascular or lymphatic insufficiency such as Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI), venous stasis ulcers, post-mastectomy edema and chronic lymphedema.

Arterial Insufficiency: Enhance arterial circulation (blood flow), reduce compartmental pressures, reduce edema (swelling). Aids blood flow back to the heart.

Pain: Cold or Heat therapy for pain management.

Precise temperature control: Cold: 43° F to 50° F, Heat: 105° F

Solid State Cooling/Heating — NO ICE required!

CPM Machines

Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) is a postoperative treatment method that is designed to aid recovery after joint surgery. In most patients after extensive joint surgery, attempts at joint motion cause pain and as a result, the patient fails to move the joint. This allows the tissue around the joint to become stiff and for scar tissue to form resulting in a joint which has limited range of motion and often may take months of physical therapy to recovery that motion. Passive range of motion means that the joint is moved without the patient’s muscles being used. Continuous Passive Motion devices are machines that have been developed for patients to use after surgery. Applied postoperatively, this device may be used on an inpatient or an outpatient basis. By using a motorized device to very gradually move the joint, it is possible to significantly accelerate recovery time by decreasing soft tissue stiffness, increasing range of motion, promoting healing of joint surfaces and soft tissue, and preventing the development of motion-limiting adhesions (scar tissue). Interestingly, this is accomplished without patient effort (passively) as the machine moves a joint through a defined (prescribed) range of motion for an extended period of time. Even more surprisingly, studies have shown that patients using CPM devices require less pain medication then patients who have had the same type of surgery and are not using this device.

TENS Unit

This Dual Channel Professional TENS Unit works with up to 4 Electrode Pads. This approved TENS Unit has 3 Medically Proven Treatment Modes. You control the intensity, pulse rate, and pulse width to find the best “pain relief pulse” for you – just like in the therapists office. The Dual Channel Professional TENS Unit comes with a Safety Amplitude Cover to protect from accidental bumps. It also comes with a sturdy belt clip, carrying case, and instruction manual.

The Dual Channel Professional TENS Unit works with up to 4 Electrode Pads to treat a couple different areas. This FDA Approved TENS Unit has 3 Medically Proven Treatment Modes and is both Safe and Effective. We use a TENS Unit to relieve all types of pain – back, foot, shoulder, neck, virtually any acute or chronic pain. It does this by overriding the pain signal to the brain through electrical impulse.

What that means to you is that whether your pain originates in the upper of lower back, neck, foot, shoulders, elbow, virtually every area on your body, you will get tremendous pain relief. If this sounds easy so far, it is because it is.

Muscle Stimulation

The MAXEMS 1000/2000 is a battery operated pulse generator that sends electrical impulses through electrodes to the body and reaches the underlying muscle group. The device is provided with two controllable output channels, each independent of each other. An electrode pair can be connected to each output channel. The electrodes of the MAXEMS 1000/2000 create electrical impulses whose amplitude, pulse rate, contraction time, relaxation time and ramp time may be altered with switches. Dial controls (Press buttons) are very easy to use and slide cover prevents accidental changes in the setting.

Benefits of Muscle Stimulators Include:

  • Relaxation of Muscle Spasms
  • Increasing Local Blood Circulation
  • Maintaining or Increasing Range of Motion
  • Muscle Re-education
  • Prevention or Retardation of Disuse Atrophy
  • Immediate Post-Surgical Stimulation of Calf Muscle to Prevent Venous Thrombosis
